The Early Riser
Lately I have been struggling with my lack of ability to get
things done around the house while caring for my two sugar babies. My desire
was to do some much needed spring cleaning, and well, you do know what month
this is? (August - just in case you are reading this at a later date). I
realize that I need to find time in the day when I'm not being consumed with
being mommy or wife, when I can think, get things done and have a decent time
with the Lord and pray.
So, I have been
inspired by Mrs. Proverbs 31 and some ladies on Youtube, one in particular is Karen on OurFarmhouseLife, to get up early. Now this is a big deal for me
because I am not a morning person, especially when I haven't slept through the
night in the past NINE MONTHS! I'm sorry was I yelling.
Anyways I digress, so last week I started getting up early
with the intentions of trying this up early in the morning for one or two
mornings. Well, it turned out that I was up every morning except Sunday. Can
you believe it? It has been working really well, I'm getting things done,
cooking breakfast for everyone and I'm feeling less stressed through out the
day. The best part is having a decent quiet time with the Lord. It seems like
actively being in God's word and spending time in prayer helps me to remember
that the things that concerns me are all in God's hands and he will take care
of it. I'm sure there will be days when I'll sleep in, but maybe one day as I
continue on this journey of homemaker I will consider myself an early riser.
