In Honour of YouIt’s Memorial Day 2008, and I really wanted to give you something to think about today as we take time off from work, gather with family, and enjoy a little rest and relaxation.
Memorial’s Day formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to their country. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War, it was expanded after World War I to include casualties of any war or military action.
With this in mind please take time out your day for a moment of reflection and silence on the sacrifices that so many have made for their country, their friends, their families, and you.
Pray for the continued strength of each fallen service member’s family both past and present let us continue to keep their memory alive by honouring them each year.
Thank you and have a wonderfully blessed Day.
